Our Process

What is the step-by-step process for getting a custom closet or cabinet? +
Step 1 - Free Consultation: A CWA designer visits your home, takes measurements, and discusses your goals, storage needs, and design preferences. They bring finish samples and reference photos so you can see options in your own space.
Step 2 - 3D Design: Our designer creates a photo-realistic 3D rendering of your space so you can visualize the finished result before any work begins. We revise together until the design is exactly right.
Step 3 - Crafting: Once the design is approved, all components are custom manufactured in our Georgia workshop.
Step 4 - Installation: Our professional installation team brings the design to life with precision and care. After installation, we perform a thorough quality inspection.

How long does the consultation take? +
The consultation typically takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the space. If you have a time constraint, let us know when you schedule and we will do our best to accommodate.
When will I see the 3D design for my space? +
After your in-home consultation, your designer will begin preparing your photo-realistic 3D rendering. Depending on the complexity of the project, some designs can be completed the same day; larger projects may require a follow-up appointment. Either way, nothing is finalized until you have reviewed and approved every detail.
Can I make changes after I approve the design? +
We encourage you to review every detail carefully before signing off. Minor adjustments may be possible early in the production process, but significant changes after approval could affect your timeline and pricing. Please contact your designer as soon as possible if you would like to request any modifications.
How long does the whole process take from consultation to installation? +
The timeline varies depending on the size and complexity of your project. The initial consultation takes 1 to 2 hours. After design approval, production and installation generally take 3 to 4 weeks. Most installations are completed in a single day. Your designer will provide a more precise timeline during your consultation.
Can I add to my closet or cabinets after installation? +

Can I take my storage system with me when I move? +
Because every system is custom manufactured for a specific space, relocating an installed system to a new home is generally not practical. Additionally, built-in shelving and cabinetry that is bolted or fastened to walls may be considered a fixture under local real estate law and may not be removable once a home is listed for sale. If you are moving, contact us to schedule a consultation for your new home and we will design a fresh custom solution to fit your new space perfectly.

Design and Materials

What materials are your closets and cabinets made from? +
Our custom cabinetry is built from high-quality materials with European-inspired craftsmanship. We offer a variety of finishes, including custom painting and staining options designed to complement your home's existing decor. All products are made in the USA, fabricated right here in our Georgia workshop.
How many finishes and colors are available? +
We offer a wide range of finishes and colors to match your home's aesthetic and personal style. Your designer will bring physical samples to your consultation so you can see and feel your options in your own space before making any decisions.
What add-ons and accessories are available? +
We offer a full range of functional upgrades to maximize organization and style, including soft-close drawers and shelves, LED shelf lighting, pull-out laundry baskets, shoe rails and shelving, belt and tie racks, pull-out pant hangers, pull-down closet rods, flocked jewelry and accessory trays, mirror doors, pull-out ironing boards (laundry rooms), and pegboards, hooks, and wall organization panels (garage).
What does "soft-close" mean? +
Soft-close technology means drawers and cabinet doors do not slam shut. They close automatically with a gentle push, gliding quietly into place. This feature improves everyday comfort and extends the life of your cabinetry.
Are your systems truly custom, or are they built from standard parts? +
Every system we build is genuinely custom, designed and manufactured to fit your specific space and lifestyle. We do not use pre-made modular units. From dimensions to finish to hardware, every element is tailored to you.
Can you supply doors for my closet? +
Yes. We can design and include custom doors as part of your closet solution, including mirror doors and other styles. Ask your designer about door options during your consultation.
Where are your products made? +
All CWA products are made in the USA and manufactured in our Georgia workshop. Being a locally rooted, Georgia-based business means faster turnaround, tighter quality control, and a team that stands behind every piece we build.

Installation

How long does installation take? +
Most installations are completed in 1-2 days. Larger or more complex projects may require more days. Your designer will provide a more accurate estimate based on your project scope.
How do I prepare my space for installation day? +
To keep installation day smooth and on schedule: clear out all clothing, shoes, and personal items from the space; remove any existing shelving, rods, or organizers (or ask us about our removal service); make sure walls are patched and painted at least 48 hours before the scheduled installation date; and ensure clear, unobstructed access to the work area. Your designer will provide project-specific preparation instructions during the design phase.
Can you remove my existing closet system? +
Yes. We can remove existing closet rods, wire shelving, or organizer systems prior to installation. Ask your designer about this service and whether an additional fee applies based on the scope of the removal.
Do I need to remove carpet or flooring before installation? +
In most cases, no. Existing carpet or hard flooring generally does not need to be removed before installation. Our team will let you know if your specific design requires any floor preparation during the consultation.
Do your systems mount to the wall or sit on the floor? +
This depends on the specific design. Many of our closet systems are floor-mounted for maximum flexibility, while certain cabinet configurations can be wall-mounted. Your designer will specify the mounting approach as part of your 3D design presentation.
Are your systems re-adjustable after installation? +
Many shelving components are adjustable, so you can reconfigure your storage as your needs change over time. Fixed elements such as drawers and cabinet boxes are permanently installed. Your designer can clarify which elements are adjustable in your specific design.

Yes. Our in-home consultation and photo-realistic 3D design rendering are both completely free and carry no obligation. There is no cost to meet with one of our designers and see your space brought to life in 3D before committing to anything.
What is included in the price? +
Your quote typically includes the in-home design consultation, photo-realistic 3D design rendering, custom manufacturing of all cabinetry components, professional installation by our own trained team, and a post-installation quality inspection. Optional add-ons and accessories are quoted separately. All costs are presented transparently before you approve anything.

Warranty

Do your products come with a warranty? +
Yes. All CWA Closets & Cabinets products are backed by a warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. If any component fails due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair or replace it. Contact us for the specific warranty terms that apply to your project.
What does the warranty cover? +

How do I submit a warranty claim? +

Returns, Refunds, and Claims

What is your return policy? +
Because every system is custom designed and manufactured specifically for your space, we are unable to accept returns on installed custom cabinetry. This is exactly why we invest so much care in the design consultation and approval process: we want you to be fully confident before production begins.
What happens if something is damaged or missing during installation? +
We perform a thorough quality inspection after every installation. If any component is damaged or missing, please document it and notify us immediately at contact@cwacabinets.com or 770-589-8734. We will arrange to repair or replace the affected parts at no additional cost to you.
What if I am not satisfied with the final result? +
Your satisfaction is our top priority. We run a careful collaborative design and approval process for exactly this reason. If there is a genuine issue that differs from what was approved, please reach out to us right away and we will make it right.
Can I cancel my order after signing the agreement? +
Cancellations after design approval may result in forfeiture of your deposit, as production will have already begun on your custom components. If your circumstances change, please contact us as soon as possible at 770-589-8734 and we will do our best to work with you.

Delivery and Shipping

Do you deliver and install at my home? +
Yes. For all projects within our service area (Norcross, Atlanta, Peachtree Corners, Duluth, Johns Creek, Milton, Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, Cumming, and surrounding North Atlanta communities), delivery and installation are handled at your home. Delivery is coordinated with your installation appointment.
Do you ship products to other states? +
Yes. We offer product-only shipping to all U.S. states. Free local pickup is also available at our Norcross studio at 5345 Oakbrook Pkwy, Norcross, GA 30093. Please note that out-of-area orders are product only and do not include installation services.
